About imageAbout imageAbout image
  • A Non-Profit, 501(c)3, that provides a transitional environment for veterans.

  • The mission of Wellness-for-Veterans is to locate, educate, and assist all veterans in obtaining
their entitled benefits. These benefits are, but may not be limited to: housing, compensation for
service connected injuries, PTSD counseling, and employment.

  • Once Wellness-for-Veterans becomes a more established entity, the second phase would be to
obtain a building complex to assist the veterans. The primary goal of this complex would be to
provide housing for homeless veterans. In addition, it would provide them with the education,
wellness, and tools necessary to transition successfully from a military world to a civilian world.

  • Wellness-for-Veterans provides a FREE service to veterans. However, it is not without costs.

  • Donations, contributions, and the sale of Wellness for Veterans apparel help to fund this much needed service.

  • Please see the donation page for links to buy Wellness for Veterans apparel from the web-store.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Wellness for Veterans, especially Steve Miller. He helped me to obtain my VA Benefits. It started with him driving me to the American Legion to apply for my lost or misplaced DD214, I was asked if I had any service related injuries. I told them about my problem. They were shocked to hear that I waited so long. I informed them that I was unaware that Reservist were eligible for VA Benefits. We initiated the proper paper work and I was scheduled for an exam. Following the exam I was awarded a partial disability. None of this would have happened without the help and guidance of Steve Miller. He takes pride in helping veterans get what they are entitled to. Thank You WFV and Steve Miller. P.S: I was discharged in 1966

My story starts with a visit to Idlewild park in ligonier pa the summer of 2021! It’s been my happy place since I had a life changing injury where I broke my back in two places in June of 2017! And with that i became disabled and not able to work or do many things as before ! For someone who been active and worked all their life! The journey and days been rough ever since so I find a little peace at Idlwild! Well on this certain day I heard someone call out Vince and since that’s my name I answered ! It was a former co-worker , and as we began to talk he mention how he is receiving a Va disability! And when I reply that I had some knee issues due to my service time and he said he will send me a guys name of Steve Miller who represents Wellness for Veterans and he may be able to help me! So within a few days I got a message via Facebook from my former co-worker ! It wasn’t till this pass summer of 2022 that I finally called Steve ! Really not sure why I waited so long ! Steve answer right away and we set up a appointment to get started on my claim, which took place around June 30 of 2022, Steve assure me he would be there every step of the way and he was ! He said his success rate was like 99 percent ! Well a few weeks later I get a letter from the Va administration stating they gotten my claim and I will hear back soon. And I did, I gotten a appointment for a hearing test and again Steve again for support and encouragement! I like to add no matter when I called Steve he always got back to me, if he didn’t answer at that time which he did 85 percent of the time ! A few days ago I came home from my Happy place (idlewild) and o got a letter from the Va stating how I was approved for Va disabity ! I couldn’t wait to call Steve to let him know how much I appreciate his help and how he changed my life for the better! Since I been on SSI things been tough I earn about 35 percent of my working wage so there been some big adjustment of my standard of living and some sleepless nites ! I’m not going to lie but with the cost of everything like home heating oil had me concern for this up coming winter, ! Even with the cold nites so far I haven’t turn on the furnace trying to save money and using space heaters to stay warm! But now with Steve’s help and Veterans for wellness I can sleep easy now and be warm to boot! A Million thanks to all involved with this great organization that helps out those who served this great country and who suffered a injury while doing so! I Salute you Steve and for all u do ! Your a game changer and life safer! Sincerely Vince Murphy Veteran of the US Navy 1984 to 1990! Thanks again and thank you to all the service memebers and those who served ! Sent from my iPhone

I worked with Steve to file my claim for compensation. He was very helpful throughout the whole process. He met with me multiple times and helped me file with American Legion. Steve is very knowledgeable on different resources available to veterans; he helped educate me about these and how to receive them. Additionally, he is very well connected to various organizations and programs which can be a great help! I highly recommend contacting Steve at Wellness for Vets if you are a veteran. -- Cole Westwood (270) 839-1280
